TEXT SIZE: A A A
The 2nd Mini-Symposium on Microbial Natural Products organizied by CAS Key Laboratory of Tropical Marine Bio-resources and Ecology (LMB) was successfully held on June 25th in Guangzhou.

Invited by Prof. ZHANG Si, the director of South China Sea Institute of Oceanology (SCSIO), Prof. DU Liangcheng from University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Prof. SHEN Yuemao from Shandong University and Prof. NIE Jing from Southern Medical University visited SCSIO and delivered lectures at the conference, which was hosted by Profs. ZHANG Si and JU Jianhua. More than 100 faculties and graduate students from LMB attended this meeting.

Profs. DU Liangcheng, SHEN Yuemao and NIE Jing gave lectures entitled “Antibiotics from Underexplored Sources-Molecular Mechanism for Biosynthesis and Regulation”, “Genomes Mining of Secondary Metabolisms from Streptomyces sp. LZ35”, and “The Study of Traditional Chinese Medicine Extraction inhibit Nephritic Fibrosis” respectively. Profs. LIU Yonghong and QI Shuhua from SCSIO made the speeches on “The Activate Secondary Metabolisms from Marine symbiotic and epiphyte microorganisms”, and “The Study on Activate Secondary Metabolisms from Gorgonian Coral and Deep-sea Derived Fungus”. These lectures ignited in-depth discussions covering a plenty of novel ideas and reliable methods on microbial natural products from different resources.

This conference is the second session of “The Mini-Symposium on Microbial Natural Products” held by LMB since last year. The series of conferences are purposed on promoting the innovation and development of the research on marine microbial natural products and their biosynthesis in LMB, and should bring reinforcement of the communication and collaboration between LMB and the frontier of famous domestic and overseas research teams.
