TEXT SIZE: A A A

Prof. Yonghong Liu, leader of the SCSIO research team “Marine Natural Product Chemistry”, has been invited recently to serve as a member of the editorial board of the international academic journal Natural Product Research, starting from 29st October, 2012. The invitation letter was sent by Prof. Armandodoriano Bianco (Dipartimento di Chimica, Università degli Studi di Roma “La Sapienza”), editor-in-Chief of Natural Product Research.

Natural Product Research (2011 Impact Factor: 1.009),formerly known as Natural Product Letters (1992 - 2002), is a well-known journal in the field of pharmaceutical sciences, published by the Taylor & Francis Publishing Company. Natural Product Research issues subtitled either “Part A - Synthesis and Structure” or “Part B - Bioactive Natural Products”, 24 issues per year. This journal publishes original articles and short communications.

The journal covers all aspects of research in the chemistry and biochemistry of naturally occurring compounds. The communications include coverage of work on natural substances of land and sea and of plants, microbes and animals, discussions of structure elucidation, synthesis and experimental biosynthesis of natural products, developments of methods, fermentation chemistry, plant tissue culture investigations etc.

The editorial board members were composed of 60 scientists from 18 countries and regions, including USA, UK, Japan, Germany, France, Swaziland, Canada, etc. Prof. Yonghong Liu is the first scientist from Mainland China to act as an editorial member in the journal; this indicated that the marine natural product chemistry research in SCSIO came to recognition and attention by the fellow scientists both at home and abroad.
