Zhan WenhuanDeputy Director

Zhan Wenhuan, male, born in October 1963, doctor, researcher and doctoral supervisor. He graduated from the Department of geology, Sun Yat sen University in 1985. In 1988 and 2002, he obtained master's and doctor's degrees in marine geology from the Institute of South China Sea oceanography, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Sciences respectively. In August 2000, he went to Wisconsin Madison University in the United States for study and academic exchange; in September 2002, he went to Germany's Baltic Sea Research Institute (Iow) for cooperative research; in November 2005, he went to greifswaid University and Baltic Sea Research Institute in Germany (Iow) for academic exchanges and cooperative research; since February 1999, he has successively served as director of personnel education department, director of asset finance department, director and assistant director of Marine Environmental Engineering Center, deputy secretary and deputy director of the South China Sea Institute of Oceanography, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is now the party secretary and deputy director of the South China Sea Institute of Oceanography, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The main research fields are marine neotectonics and geological disasters. He has presided over more than 10 national special projects, National Natural Science Foundation of China, innovation projects of Chinese Academy of Sciences and key scientific and technological projects of Guangdong Province. In Chinese Science Bulletin, Acta geologica Sinica, Acta oceanogica More than 60 papers have been published in Sinica, scientific bulletin, Acta geologica Sinica, Chinese Journal of geological hazards and prevention and hydrogeology engineering geology; monographs including modern tectonic stress field and formation and evolution in the South China Sea and its adjacent areas, coastal geological hazards in South China Sea, and modern active tectonic and ecological environmental disasters in northwest South China Sea were published by the first author Department. At present, he is a national expert on sea area use demonstration.
