Dr. Danling Tang continues to serve as Member of the PACON Board of Directors
Professor Danling Tang, of South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was elected as Member of the Board of Directors of PACON International at the Twenty-First Annual Conference (PACON2008) in June 2008 in Hawaii.
Dr. Danling Tang has been a Board member of the PACON International for many years. For this 21th PACON, she was also Member of the International Scientific Advisory Committee, Executive Conference Committee, and Technical Program Committee, and served as the convener and chairman of Session CST-8 “Coastal Hazards at this conference”. She gave an oral presentation at the conference, and at same time introduced the Great Sichuan Earthquake in China. And she also sent out information and invitation of PORSEC 2008 which will be held in Guangzhou, China in December this year.
PACON International is an international, non-profit, professional marine science and technology society. The Pacific Congress is held annually to share scientific and technical information among those interested in the future of the world’s ocean with a Pacific focus. The theme of PACON 2008 is “Energy and Climate Change-Innovative Approaches to Solving Today’s Problems”.
