International Partnership Program for Creative Research Teams (CAS/SAFEA) Workshop was successfully held in University of Connecticut, USA
Program for Creative Research Teams (CAS/SAFEA) and the professor of University of Connecticut, the 8th International Workshop and the 9th Working Conference of this teams were held in University of Connecticut, USA, on Aug.8-14,2010.
Prof.Hans Dam of University of Connecticut,and Prof.George McManus of University of Connecticut gave us a report respectively, named“Control of hypoxia in Long Island Sound” and “Diversity of coastal planktonic ciliates”. Prof.Sandra E. Shumway introduced their four Marine Scienticfic journals, named “Journal of Experimental Marine Biology and Ecology”, “Harmful Algae”, “Journal of Shellfish Research”, and“ Reviews in Fisheries Science”. All the team members exchanged their recent study results and the content including Hydrodynamics, Chemical Environment, Primary Productivity, Plankton Ecology,Coastal Marine Biology,molecular ecology and so on.
Prof. Liangmin Huang, the director of these teams presided over this workshop and gave us a working report of International Partnership Program for Creative Research Teams (CAS/SAFEA). He made a summary for their work before and gave a particular arrangement for the next research. It’s planned to hold the Report Conference of Pearl River estuary Cruise at the end of October in this year. In order to acquire more achievements,they would concentrate on discussion and analysis of the cruise data from different subject angles. Around the scientific question, they would combine the mission and aim of this teams with recent plan to complete all task successfully .
After the conference, organized by Prof. Junda Lin, the member of International Partnership Program for Creative Research Teams (CAS/SAFEA) visited the Florida Institute of Technology(FIT). Prof. Liangmin Huang and other members had a meeting and communicated with Dr.Anthony J. Catanese, President of FIT, and Dr. T. Dwayne McCay, Executive Vice President of FIT.
