The South China Sea Institute of Oceanology (SCSIO) under Chinese Academy of Sciences has received 46 programs from National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) in 2010, an increase of 11 from 2009.
With a total research grant of 20.49 million Yuan, the 46 programs cover subjects ranging from mathematical science, chemical science, the Earth science to life science and medical science. What is especially exciting is that the programs for distinguished young scholars jumped from 16 in 2009 to 25 this year, showing SCSIO’s good momentum of sustainable development in R&D.
