Prof. TANG Danling Elected President of PROSEC Association
Prof. TANG Danling from the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SCSIO,CAS) waselectedpresident of the Pan Ocean Remote Sensing Conference (PROSEC) Association at PROSEC 2010 held in Taiwan on October 18-23, 2010, becoming the first Chinese president of the Association.
Prof. TANG has been awarded CAS’s Outstanding Oversea Talents Program and Hundred Talents Program for her achievements in marine biological environment and remote sensing studies. She also serves as a member of the organizing committees of several international scientific organizations, and is quite active in participating in international collaborative research programs. This is why she was elected president of PROSEC Association for 2012-2016 after two years’ appointment as president-elect from 2010 to 2012.
PROSEC Association was founded in the 1990s. It is an international organization specialized in the applications of remote sensing for ocean studies and dedicated to helping developing nations stimulate their science programs using global remote sensing data. PROSEC is held every two years.
