Special introduction of Dr DanLing Tang in the Journal "Space Research Today"
Recently, the Journal "Space Research Today" was devoted to introduce Dr. DanLing Tang in a special section. Dr. Tang is the professor of State Key Laboratory of Tropical Oceanology (LTO), South China Sea Institute of Oceanology (SCSIO), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). In this issue of Vol.181 (August, 2011),there is a detailed introduction with words and pictures about Dr. Tang’s studies working experience, research achievement and her contributions to serve on many international scientific organizations.
Dr. DanLing Tang was elected as a member of "100 Talents Program" of CAS. She engaged in researches on satellite remote sensing of marine ecology, especial the application of remote sensing on natural disasters and the environment change. Now she is the PI of “Research Center for Remote Sensing of marine Ecology /Environment (RSMEE). Edited by Dr Tang, the book "Remote Sensing of the Changing Oceans" published by Springer, has attracted wide attention. She also focused her energy on international cooperation and exchanges. She is a councilor of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Council, a member of the PACON Board of Directors, and the vice chair of Sub-commission A2-Ocean Dynamics and Productivity, Committee on Space Research (COSPAR; 2010–2014).
"Space Research Today" is an internationally well-known Journal published by ELSEVIER. It reports primarily on the recent happenings in the field of space research and related research results.
