SCSIO Scientists attend the 11th Greenhouse Gas Control Technologies (GHGT-11) conference

Prof. Zhou Di, Dr. Li Pengchun and Peng Jialong from South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences(SCSIO, CAS) was invited to participate in the 11th International Conference on Greenhouse Gas Control Technologies (GHGT-11) held in Kyoto, Japan from November 18th to 22nd ,2012.

A total of over 1200 experts and scholars form about 60 countries participated the conference.11 technical sessions including 77 topics were held. About 300 speeches were given in GHGT-11 covered almost every aspects of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS).

 The Greenhouse Gas Control Technologies (GHGT) conference series was formed in 1997 following the merger of the earlier series of International Conference on Carbon Dioxide Removal (ICCDR) and the Greenhouse Gas Mitigation options conference. IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programs (IEA GHG) are the guardians of the GHGT conferences which are held every two years. The conference series rotates between, North America, Europe and Asia. The GHGT conference series has established itself as the premier international platform for the presentation of cutting edge research and the latest developments in CO2 Capture and Storage technologies.

GDCCSR project leaded by South China Sea Institute of Oceanology was interested by researchers from many countries and leaded to hotly discussions. Participating in GHGT-11 improves the research skill and influence in CCS research field of South China Sea Institute of Oceanology.
