Research Group of Marine Active Substances and Related Marine Chemical Ecology

  Marine organisms are the most advantages and characteristics of marine living resources. Study of marine organisms related to the protection of national interest of marine living resources, the resources safety of innovative drug, the ecological environmental safety and health restoration, and the state's major science and technology strategy. Secondary metabolism of marine organisms is the basis of innovation in drug discovery and health rehabilitation of ecological environment, as well as a starting point of combinatorial biosynthesis. Combinatorial biosynthesis will provide new health, rapid and harmonious ways for development of marine microbial industry.

  Our research group select microbial groups, mangrove, and coral occurring in China's unique marine environment and marine ecosystem, concern about the species diversity and genetic diversity, find novel secondary metabolites with physiological and ecological effects, study on the key metabolic processes and the main functional genes of marine microorganisms, reveal the biosynthetic pathway and regulatory mechanisms, develop the techniques of gene recombination and metabolic engineering, enrich theoretical basis of biosynthesis, develop new technologies of combinatorial biosynthesis, so as to lay the foundation for the development of innovative drugs and characteristic environmentally-friendly products.
