The 24th PACON International Pacifica Congress on Marine Science and Technology was held in Tokyo, Japan during 23-29 Aug 2014. Dr. TANG DanLing was awarded the “Distinguishing Member Award”from PACON.
This is to recognize Dr. TANG’s outstanding scientific achievements in ocean remote sensing and Marine ecology, and also to commend her import contributions on development of a new interdisciplinary “Remote sensing marine ecology” and promote international cooperation in ocean sciences.
Dr. Tang is a professor of South China Sea Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She has published about 90 SCI papers, and her two books “Remote sensing of the changing Oceans” and “Typhoon Impact and Crisis Management” have been published by Springer.
PACON International was established in 1982 in USA. It is an organization comprised of marine scientists, engineers, industrialists, and policy-makers dedicated to sharing state-of-the-art marine science and technology and the appropriate applications of this technology. Its principle goal is to provide information to all participating nations to promote the environmentally sound utilization of ocean resources and to advance knowledge in the various disciplines.
